started out as a venture to provide the consumer with a high quality unadulterated product. Starting from Cygnet Tea, we have expanded our product range spanning from the traditional condiments range to spices and other daily cooking needs like salt, noodles, papadam etc.
Starting out in 1986 as a home business, we have grown with customer confidence and loyalty over the years to become a major player in the condiments and spices market in Sri Lanka with an ever increasing distribution network. Bolstered by this growth we are now eyeing the overseas market.

History of the Company
Nihal Perera, the first born son of a Police Sargent, started his career at CY Associates, selling tea.
With the closing down of the company he started out on his own in 1986, establishing his own operations in Stace Road, Grand Pass thereby signaling the birth of the CYGNET brand. Starting with Tea the company gradually progressed to condiments and subsequently to spices. With the expanding operations the business moved to Nugegoda and finally settled in Polgasowita where the current operations are located.
Over the past 35 years the brand has gradually captured the hearts of consumers and created loyalty through its consistent commitment to quality. Building on this commitment to quality we at Cygnet are forging ahead in this competitive market.
